Welcome to HackPrinceton Fall 2021, a student-run hackathon by Princeton University.

Here, you'll meet fellow hackers from around the world, learn new skills, and work alongside seasoned mentors. We'll have free workshops, lecture series, mentorship, prizes, games, and more. Don't have a team, or even an idea? Don't worry! We'll give you the tools to build something incredible.

For 36 hours, from November 5th-7th 2021, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate and build out brilliant, innovative, and impactful ideas. 

TRACKS: We invite you to create projects under the following tracks.

1) AI/ML

AI/ML is the science of making a computer behave in a way that human intelligence would that allows it to improve automatically. This track is for hackers who want to reduce human involvement in processes through software.

2) FinTech

Financial Technology is essential for the global economy and daily dealings of people. This track is for hackers who want to integrate technology into financial activities to imrpove the consumer experience. 

3) Accessibility

Accessibility is the concept of whether a product or service can be used by everyone. This track is for hackers who strive to make the world more accessible using the power of modern technology.

4) Social Justice

Social Justice is  view that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities. This track is for hackers who are eager to bring equality  through innovative application of technology. 

5) Sustainability

Sustainable practices support ecological, human, and economic health and vitality. This track is for hackers who aim to improve environmental sustainability throuhg the use of technology. 

6) Blockchain/Digital Assets

Blockchain/Digital Assets is a creation of unique digital representations of assets that go beyond traditional financial instruments. This track is for hackers who seek to find a way to trade any assets with more liquidity and speed but at a lower cost.  

7) Own Your Internet

What happens when consumers, not big tech, call the shots? This track is for hackers who recognize the growing flaws of the mainstream internet. They envision a world of apps where consumers own their data, privacy is built-in, and your @sign is your key to a more private internet. 

 

Requirements

1. You must submit a link to your project's public GitHub repository created between November 5-7, 2021

2. You must submit a video demo that does not exceed 2 minutes in length. Remember to leave time to upload your video to YouTube/any other platform and add the link to your video to your Devpost submission. Demo videos should clearly indicate the problem your hack attempts to solve and a walkthrough of your hack's functionality.

Judging Criteria

  • Creativity
    Think big and come up with new ideas! How original and innovative is this hack?
  • Depth and Usefulness
    Identifying problems and build a project to thoroughly solve them! How thoroughly does this hack solve the stated problem? Can you identify edge cases that would break the hack? Can this hack be used in real life to better somebody's life?
  • Design
    Create a polished experience! Does it feel like a quickly hacked-together project or something that is well thought out? Is the user experience and interface smooth and well-designed? Is this hack designed to most optimally solve the stated problem?
  • Presentation/Demo
    Articulate well the purpose and workings of your hack! Was the purpose and added value of this hack clearly stated in the demonstration? Is there a distinct problem this hack aims to solve and is the solution well presented?
